Four Color Comics

Superman. Captain America. Batman. Spider-Man. Wonder Woman. Icons, larger than life figures who have left an indelible mark on the pop cultural landscape. The mythic potential and human resonance of the superhero genre makes it a very popular medium for storytelling, and the Big Two comic companies have spent over forty years crafting fantastic and layered worlds rich with superheroic legacy.

Four Color Comics is an exploration of the superhero genre that hearkens back to the classic, iconic world of those comic books while applying a healthy dose of the modern world; a world much like our own, but altered by a rich history of superhuman heroes and villains. In this respect we look to books like Kurt Busiek's Astro City, which captures the essence of classic supers while addressing modern issues and themes. The term 'four color' in this sense does not explicitly refer to the four color method of printing, but rather the sense of wonder and fable that are the hallmarks of the Silver and Bronze Ages of Comics. Our setting is original, and players are encouraged to help us build a vibrant world every bit as exciting as the superheroic properties with which they are familiar.

We are a fully original setting with only original characters. Players are offered hero slots, supportive sidekick / hench slots, and even a villain slot if proved worthy. We utilize the Mutant and Masterminds 2E ruleset.
